Drop-in Centres (DIC) are community-based services which provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the UK. They provide a range of services, including housing advice, support and information; access to basic amenities such as a hot meal and shower; mental health and substance misuse services; and access to community activities. The primary purpose of Drop-in Centres (DIC) is to provide a place of refuge and support, offering individuals the opportunity to access the help and services they need to move away from homelessness. Additionally, Drop-in Centres (DIC) can also provide advice and assistance on how to access other services and support networks, such as education, health and employment. In this way, Drop-in Centres (DIC) play an important role in helping individuals transition from homelessness to independent living.
