Voluntary Sector Agencies (VSA) are non-profit organisations in the UK housing sector which provide advice, assistance, advocacy and other services to people living in or seeking housing. They are independent organisations which are not part of the public or private sectors, and they usually operate at a local or regional level. VSA’s aim to improve access to housing and provide support services to tenants and those seeking housing, including providing advice on tenancy law, supporting people to make successful applications for housing, and advocating for tenants’ rights. VSA’s may also provide services such as homelessness prevention and support for vulnerable tenants, including those on benefits. VSA’s are often run by volunteers, and may partner with local authorities, housing associations and other organisations to provide services.
