Rural Housing Crisis/Need (RHCN) is an issue in the UK housing market which refers to the lack of affordable housing available in rural areas. This includes both the lack of housing to meet current need and the lack of housing to meet future needs. The purpose of RHCN is to address the housing needs of people in rural areas, particularly those with low incomes and who are unable to access the market for affordable housing. The scope of RHCN extends to all aspects of housing, including the availability and affordability of rental homes, the adequacy of existing housing stock, the availability of social housing and the availability of affordable home ownership. Additionally, RHCN seeks to ensure that rural communities are provided with appropriate and sustainable housing solutions which meet the needs of their residents now and in the future.
