Outreach Teams (OT) in the context of UK housing are teams of professionals such as housing officers, outreach workers, youth workers, and social workers who work together to provide support to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. OTs provide a range of services including tenancy support, help with finding accommodation, advice on budgeting and debt, access to employment and education opportunities, as well as assistance with accessing benefits and other entitlements. OTs also provide emotional and practical support, as well as advocating on behalf of clients to ensure their rights are respected. The primary purpose of an OT is to help people to prevent or resolve homelessness, and to ensure that those facing homelessness are adequately supported and housed.
