Local Connection Disputes (LCD) are a process in the UK Housing system which allows individuals to challenge the local connection criteria applied to them by their local council or housing association. This process applies when an applicant has been determined to be ineligible for a particular property or service based on not having a sufficient local connection to their local area. The purpose of the LCD process is to ensure that applicants are not unfairly excluded from the housing system due to their lack of local connection, and to provide them with an opportunity to challenge the local connection criteria applied to them. The scope of LCD covers all areas of the UK housing system including social housing, homelessness services, and supported housing.
