A Homeowner (HO) is an individual in the UK who owns a property they are living in. Homeowners are responsible for the mortgage payments and upkeep of their property, and have the right to live in that property without interruption. Homeowners may also be responsible for taxes, insurance, and other associated costs. The purpose and scope of Homeownership is to provide individuals with the ability to secure a place of residence, typically through a mortgage loan or cash purchase, that they can make their own and call home. Homeownership also provides individuals with the opportunity to build equity and wealth over time, through paying down the mortgage and potentially increasing the value of their property. Additionally, it provides stability and continuity in a person’s life, as they are able to remain in the same property for a long period of time.
